Vice President of Namibia Endorses the Sirimba Model for National Impact
Windhoek, Namibia – 19 June 2025
In a major milestone for education and energy innovation in Namibia, the Karibu Kwetu Solar Trading team had the distinct honour of presenting the Sirimba Model to Her Excellency Lucia Witbooi, Vice President of the Republic of Namibia, on the morning of June 19th, 2025.
The meeting focused on the bold vision of the Sirimba Model — a transformative initiative that merges solar-powered infrastructure, inclusive education, and vocational training into a scalable model designed for Namibia’s rural and underserved communities. The Vice President expressed her blessings and full support for the project, applauding its commitment to equity, sustainability, and national development.
“She provided us with strategic guidance on how to navigate the policy landscape and strengthen institutional collaboration,” said Aliela Muyembe, CEO of Karibu Kwetu Solar Trading. “Her Excellency’s endorsement is not just symbolic — it’s a signal that Namibia is ready to lead in innovative, African-born solutions to systemic challenges in education.”
The Sirimba Model has already gained traction across multiple levels of government and civil society. Earlier this year, the project was presented to Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Dino Ballotti, who welcomed the model’s potential to enhance educational access in remote areas. A Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education is currently underway, aiming to formalize the partnership and align the initiative with national development priorities.
The meeting with the Vice President comes at a critical time, as Karibu Kwetu prepares to launch the Sirimba Global Design Competition, inviting the world’s brightest architectural minds to co-create the first flagship campus in Ovitoto.
“This project is not about aid; it’s about innovation, sovereignty, and unlocking the potential of every Namibian child,” added Muyembe. “With Her Excellency’s backing, we are now even more confident in the Sirimba Model’s capacity to scale nationally and across the continent.”
The Karibu Kwetu team extended their gratitude to the Office of the Vice President for its leadership and continued commitment to inclusive development.
