Introducing the Sirimba Booklet: A Solar-Powered Solution to Education in Namibia
We are proud to announce the publication of the Sirimba Concept Booklet, now available online. This infographic-led publication offers a clear, accessible overview of the Sirimba Model — Namibia’s first solar-funded education ecosystem.

Sirimba proposes a groundbreaking solution to one of Namibia’s most urgent challenges: how to sustainably deliver education, healthcare, and skills development to underserved rural communities without placing additional pressure on public finances.

At its core is a community-owned 40MW solar array with 50MWh battery storage, which generates long-term revenue to fund the daily operations of a hybrid campus. This includes a fully equipped school, a vocational training center, and a solar-powered healthcare clinic — all governed by a board of trustees and rooted in community ownership.
The booklet has been carefully designed to communicate the model in a format that is easy to review, share, and discuss across diverse stakeholder groups — from ministries and international partners to local leaders and private-sector investors.
With government actively seeking new funding models and scalable approaches to rural education, Sirimba offers a viable, locally grounded solution that supports national priorities while strengthening social capital.
