Karibu Kwetu Solar Trading (Pty) Ltd (KKST) is a Namibia-based social enterprise developing renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure projects across Africa. Our work brings together clean energy, education, technology and inclusive economic development to address some of the continent’s most important infrastructure challenges.
Africa’s transition to a more sustainable and technologically capable future requires more than individual solar installations. It requires integrated infrastructure that supports communities, strengthens institutions, creates economic opportunities and expands access to the technologies that will shape the future.
KKST was established to help build that infrastructure.

Renewable energy remains at the foundation of our work. KKST develops and supports solutions that include:

Developing Projects from Concept to Implementation
KKST works with technical specialists, academic institutions, investors, communities and public-sector stakeholders to move ambitious projects towards practical implementation.
Our role can include early-stage project development, feasibility planning, technical coordination, partnership development, stakeholder engagement, commercial validation and investment preparation.

Sustainable Education and Community Infrastructure

Project Baobab: Renewable-Powered AI and Renewable Energy Infrastructure in Africa; One of KKST’s flagship initiatives is Project Baobab, a renewable-powered AI and digital infrastructure platform being developed from Namibia.
Project Baobab responds to Africa’s growing need for advanced computing capacity, applied artificial intelligence, research infrastructure and digital skills. The initiative is designed to support universities, researchers, businesses, public institutions and other organisations requiring access to secure, scalable and energy-conscious computing resources.
The project combines renewable energy, battery storage and advanced computing infrastructure with academic collaboration, skills development and commercial application.
Its broader objective is to help Africa participate in the AI economy not only as a consumer of imported technologies, but as a place where advanced research, computing and innovation can be developed and hosted.
Building Through African and International Partnerships
Large-scale infrastructure cannot be developed in isolation.
KKST works to build credible partnerships between African institutions and international technical, academic and investment partners. These relationships help projects access specialised knowledge, research capacity, commercial markets and appropriate sources of capital.
At the same time, we believe African projects must remain grounded in local realities. Infrastructure should respond to genuine demand, create opportunities for local participation and strengthen the institutions and communities it is intended to serve.
